Tragedy was averted on Wednesday evening, June 16, when one of the two engines of Overland Airways’ aircraft caught fire before it landed at the runway 18R of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.
It was gathered that no passenger was hurt, as the 33 persons and crew onboard the aircraft disembarked safely on landing.
Reacting to the incident, the management of the airline explained that the aircraft experienced unusual high turbine temperature on one of its engines when it was on approach to land in Lagos.
