Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Gerardo Pimientel Zopi is dead.
Gerardo Pimientel Zopi , musician and founder of the group Los Rastrillos, died this April 8. Five days ago he had been hospitalized to continue his oncological treatment. The speaker’s death was confirmed by the Ministry of Culture of Mexico City.
The musician known as Zopi will be remembered for having been the host of the Reggaevolución program on the Reactor station of the Mexican Radio Institute (IMER), which can be tuned to 105 FM.
“The Ministry of Culture of Mexico City regrets the death of the musician and broadcaster Gerardo Pimentel “Zopi”, which occurred today, April 8. “Zopi” was founder, singer and bassist of the legendary reggae band Los Rastrillos and hosted the program “Reggaevolución” on the Reactor station of the Mexican Radio Institute. Rest in peace”, “May your rebirth be bright”, among others.
Likewise, he collaborated with the Bicitlan Radio program, in which he was a great promoter of the use of bicycles as a means of transportation. He also became a workshop leader at the Fábrica de Artes y Oficios (FARO) of Oriente, specifically in Journalism and Community Radio.
