Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that At least three officers lost their lives when unknown gunmen attacked the 7 Guards Brigade which provides security for the Presidential Villa and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. (Read More Here).
It was gathered that a captain and two soldiers were among those who died in the attack which occurred in the Bwari area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Sunday night, July 24.
Daily Trust reports that the deceased officers were reportedly ambushed after they visited the Nigeria Law School in Bwari following a distressed call from the authorities of the school.
The school management was said to have alerted that terrorists had dropped a letter indicating an imminent attack.
Confirming the attack, spokesman of the Guards Brigade, Captain Godfrey Anebi Abakpa, said troops were already combing the area in order to ensure that terrorists were not hibernating there.
Two of the deceased officers have been identified as lieutenant Ibrahim Suleiman and Captain Samuel Attah. Suleiman was the son of Col Suleiman Ahmodu Babanawa (rtd). He hailed from Okpo in Olamaboro LGA of Kogi State while late Attah was from Ibaji LGA of Kogi State.
