A second person has been shot dead during protests in Tembisa on Gauteng’s East Rand. Municipal offices have also been set alight.
The township is on a shutdown after the failure of the mayor, Tania Campbell to attend a community meeting on Friday.
Ekurhuleni mayor Tania Campbell has called for calm in Thembisa as a second person was shot dead during a protest on Monday.

According to information, Campbell denies that she was scheduled to meet the residents on Friday.
