According to the police, 12 dead bodies have been retrieved from River Nabuyonga in Mbale City today.
According to information 11 were trapped in a super custom UAW 334X while the other body is for Mwangale Andrew an employee of USAID Mbale.
The 12 bodies are at Mbale City mortuary pending postmortem.
Canary reports: “11 more bodies have been recovered from River Nabuyonga this morning, including friends and relatives who had traveled from Kampala to attend a marriage ceremony in Mbale. 20 people are feared dead.
“Mbale floods: MPs from Bugisu have asked Government to urgently set up temporary evacuation camps in the area if lives of people are to be saved.
They also want Government to consider setting up a Ministry in charge of Bugisu affairs under OPM to plan for Bugisu better.”
