Taking to social media, Michael wrote:

“In a stark violation of human rights and the rule of law, the recent unlawful detention of Pastor Okezie @ONsogbu a prominent figure associated with @OfficialAPCNg must be condemned.

Allegedly targeted for his political affiliations, Pastor Okezie’s detention represents a grave injustice that must be addressed with urgency.

Pastor Okezie vocalizing his support for the @OfficialAPCNg and its policies; such expression of political allegiance should never warrant arbitrary detention or persecution. The fundamental right to freedom of expression and association is enshrined in international law and must be upheld without exception.

Pastor Okezie was detained without proper legal justification, with authorities failing to provide concrete evidence or charges against him. Such actions not only undermine the principles of justice but also erode the trust of citizens in the system.

The outcry against Pastor Okezie’s illegal detention must be swift and widespread. The progressive community must also condemn such blatant disregard for human rights and pressure authorities to respect due process and uphold the rule of law.

In the face of this violation, it is imperative that all stakeholders unite in solidarity to demand justice for Pastor Okezie and all others who have been unlawfully detained. The illegal detention of individuals based on their political beliefs or affiliations must not be tolerated, for it strikes at the heart of democracy and threatens the freedoms we hold dear. Cc @PoliceNG.”
