As #JusticeForJennifer trends online, Jennifer Hough’s lawyer #TyroneABlackburn is speaking out regarding the resurfaced video of his client recanting sexual assault allegations against Kenneth Petty.
According to @radaronline, Tyrone said, “This heavily edited video conversation with Jennifer and Black (the same man that threatened her life on IG live) does not deserve a comment. Ask that rapist to explain the transcript from his plea hearing where he admitted to attempting to rape Jennifer with a knife at his grandmother’s house.”
He continued, “Not only do we have the plea hearing transcript, we are in the process of getting over 200 pieces of evidence and video from the 1994/95 rape case.
Several video clips circulating on social media show another side to the #JenniferHough and #KennethPetty sexual assault case. As previously reported, Kenneth was convicted and served 4.5 years in prison for attempted rape. The alleged incident took place in 1994 when Jennifer was reportedly 16 years old—and more than two decades before his marriage to #NickiMinaj. But, in 2021, Jennifer filed a lawsuit against the couple alleging that Kenneth and Nicki attempted to intimidate her into recanting her story.
Jennifer even took to @therealdaytime to interview about the alleged, unproven harassment to recant that involved a $500,000 reward. Then in January 2022, Jennifer voluntarily dismissed her suit against Nicki. At the time, her lawyer Tyrone Blackburn told @complex that “the case against Kenneth is ongoing.”
Now, #JusticeForThePettys is currently trending on Twitter after Jennifer admitted in a private conversation that she recanted the sexual assault accusations in court. It’s unclear who Jennifer is speaking to on Facetime or when these videos were filmed. However, in one video, the person says “…you recanted your story, you told them it never happened xyz, you was young, you was pressured, correct right?” Jennifer then responds, “correct.” In another video, Jennifer claimed officials did not seem interested in her truth.
“When the judge asked, does anybody have anything to say before [Kenneth] is sentenced? I stood up and I said, your honor, I’m the person who pressed the charges. I would like to drop the charges, I made a huge mistake. I’m in court, in front of his family, in front of friends, in front of everybody and they was like “take it to the DA,” nobody wanted to hear sh*t,” Jennifer said
