Butler — who previously sported short cornrow braids earlier this month — debuted his new look in a video that showed the evolution of his longer locks.

“i think we’re straight. PJ’s a traitor. I tell him every single day.” — Jimmy Butler on the roster.

Jimmy Butler on his hair: “I’m just messing with stuff to make the internet mad.”

It appears as though Butler got hair extensions. Some fans noted his hair was much shorter in recent weeks. NBA skills coach Chris Brickley was first to share photos of Butler’s new look on Wednesday, during a workout at the new Bridgehampton Killer Bees basketball court in Long Island.

It’s unclear if Butler’s new hairstyle is here to stay for his upcoming 12th NBA season — or if he switched up his hair for his offseason travels. The six-time All-Star boarded a private plane to Bogota, Colombia on Wednesday, and rocked a top knot while aboard the plane in photos he shared to his Instagram story.

Butler led the No. 1-seeded Heat to the Eastern Conference Finals last season while averaging 27.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.1 steals per game in the postseason.

The Heat reportedly plan to run it back with their same roster, but have also emerged in the pursuit for Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell.

However, the Celtics beat the Heat in Game 7 of the Conference Finals in Miami.

The Celtics ended up losing to Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.

That was the fourth title the Warriors have won in the last eight seasons, and it was their sixth time being in the NBA Finals in that time span.

Butler signed with the Heat in the summer of 2019, and the franchise has made the NBA Playoffs in all three seasons that he has been there.

In 2020, he led them to the NBA Finals, but they lost to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

In 2021, they got swept in the first-round of the playoffs by Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Butler is a six-time NBA All-Star, and he has also played for the Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves and 76ers, in addition to the Heat..
