The caretaker Health ministry reveals that a small number of XBB Covid-19 cases have been detected in Malaysia, which have contributed to a small new wave of infections. 

However, caretaker minister Khairy Jamaluddin says there is no cause for alarm yet.

Khairy says this is because there has been no increase in the number of deaths or hospitalisations. 

He also says a slight increase in Covid cases was expected in the next few weeks.
