Stormzy shared his delight on social media after he managed to nab a selfie with Taylor Swift at Sunday night’s MTV EMAs in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The British rapper took to Instagram to document his search for the Anti-Hero songstress after she bagged four gongs for best artist, best video, best pop, and best long-form video.

After giving an epic performance, the Vossi Bop hitmaker admitted to his followers he was desperate for a back-stage selfie with the Bad Blood artist: “Man’s trying to get a selfie with Taylor Swift.

“I’m looking for Taylor Swift. Taylor where are you?

“I want a selfie Taylor. I’m trying to get a selfie with Taylor Swift. Man’s running around.”

After tagging the songstress in the clip, the star posted a follow-up video to excitedly tell fans he was about to meet her, like a true Swiftie.

The Croydon native, 29, then shared a selfie of the pair smiling as Swift enjoyed a glass of wine, before he followed it up with a solo photo captioned: “So happy.”

While Stormzy was delighted he bagged his selfie with Swift, the US star previously spoke about being a fan of the Hide & Seek rapper when the pair were in the midst of a chart battle.

Sharing the snap on his Instagram grid, Stormzy simply captioned it: ‘🥹❤️’, before sharing another selfie to his stories declaring: ‘So happy’.

It’s the friendship we always needed, to be honest.

The love clearly goes both ways, as Taylor has previously spoken about being a fan of Stormzy’s too, when the pair were in the midst of a chart battle.

In 2019, her single Me!, featuring Brendan Urie, competed against Stormzy’s iconic hit Vossi Bop for the UK number one.

Taylor said at the time: ‘I love Stormzy. I’d happily lose to him.’

Stormzy ended up beating Taylor, securing his first UK number one.

Elsewhere at the EMAs, Harry Styles, Nicki Minaj, Muse and Gorillaz were among the global stars who also picked up top awards from the 20 gender-neutral categories.

Singer-songwriter Taylor ensured she thanked her fans for every award, saying at one stage: ‘You’re the reason that anything has every happened to me,’ and telling them they are the reason she’s ’employed’.

Her first prize of best long-form video was presented by John Lennon’s son and singer Julian.

Collecting the award she said: ‘I have been writing and directing my music videos for a long time but this was the first short film I have made and I felt like I learned so much about myself of how making film can be a natural extension of my storytelling just like songwriting.’
