Prosecutors have added a third charge against Tory Lanez in his ongoing case against Megan Thee Stallion.
According to TMZ, the rapper was additionally given a new charge of discharging a firearm with gross negligence, which carries a potential six-year sentence behind bars if the jury finds him guilty. Furthermore, if he’s convicted of all charges three, the 30-year-old could face up to 22 years and eight months in prison.
As previously reported, Tory, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, already has two charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, as well as carrying a weapon that was unregistered and loaded a the time of the incident on July 12, 2020. The “Say It” star has vehemently denied claims that he told Megan to “Dance, b***h!” before allegedly opening fire and shooting her in the foot following an argument which erupted as they left Kylie Jenner’s home in Los Angeles.
Megan’s then-BFF Kelsey Nicole was in the vehicle with the pair when the alleged shooting took place, with the “Savage” hitmaker hopping onto IG Live a week later, stressing, “Yes, this n**** Tory shot me. You got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and shit. Stop lying.”
