WOMAN SHOT DEAD FOR DEFENDING HER COUSIN FROM A JELOUS LOVER 

 Matebogo Magooa was shot and killed minutes after defending her cousin from her angry boyfriend in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Magooa, together with her two cousins from kwa-Thema in Ekurhuleni, were waiting for transport at a club’s parking lot when they decided to ask for a lift from one of the patrons.

As they were about to leave in the patron’s car, the fuming suspect approached, demanding to speak to his girlfriend.

An altercation broke out, with the girlfriend refusing to speak to or leave with the suspect. Magooa stepped up as the elder cousin to defuse the fight.This appeared to infuriate the suspect further and he went back to his car.

As they were about to drive out the suspect allegedly opened fire at the car, hitting Magooa in her forehead while the driver sustained flesh wounds on his arm and lower body.

After the shooting, he hurled insults before speeding off, leaving the victims fighting for their lives at the scene.

The two victims were rushed to Far East Hospital in Springs where Magooa was certified dead.

The deceased’s father, Lawrence Gaushe, said now that the suspect has handed himself over to the police he is pleading for justice for his daughter.

“The killer has to pay for what he did to my daughter. If it was up to me I would also demand a death sentence.
