Anwar Ibrahim has announced that the government has decided not to increase the electricity tariffs for households. 

The Prime Minister says this is because doing so would burden the public.

“Walaupun kita akui kalau tidak ada apa-apa yang dilakukan, kesan kepada kewangan negara agak tinggi, mencecah hampir RM30bil setahun” he says. 

He adds that if implemented, it would only apply to MNCs that engage in export.
