A Malaysian football fan was denied entry into Qatar’s Al-Bayt Stadium for wearing a jersey that authorities believed was “in support of the LGBTQ+ community”.
“They said that my football jersey confused them,” Zulfadli Ahmad told Dari Padang Tepi.
The Johorean added that he was detained for about 30 minutes for wearing Kedah Darul Aman FC’s jersey.
“I had to use Google to show the personnel that this jersey is Kedah FC’s official design.”Zulfadli was later allowed into the stadium to watch the match between Germany and Costa Rica.
