A woman identified as 30-year-old Khadija Ibrahim and her two daughters have died in a late-night fire incident at Tsangarwa in the Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

Spokesman of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps @official_NSCDC in the state, Adamu Shehu, while confirming the incident in a statement, disclosed that the three victims were badly burnt in the fire accident that completely razed down the hut where they slept.

In his words, “The fire incident engulfed a hut where a 30-year-old Khadija Ibrahim was sleeping together with her two daughters, 4-year-old Aisha Ibrahim and 2-year-old Rabi Ibrahim.”

The cause of the fire remains unknown but neighbours speculate it might not be unconnected to the charcoal fire usually made in such huts to keep the occupants warm. They have been buried according to Islamic rites.
