Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that SODELPA will form a coalition government with Sitiveni Rabuka’s People’s Alliance and the National Federation Party.

SODELPA will form a coalition government with Sitiveni Rabuka’s People’s Alliance and the National Federation Party.
It comes after two days of tense negotiations following Fiji’s national election, which saw no party win an outright majority.
It marks the end of 16 years of leadership for incumbent PM, Frank Bainimarama, who seized power in a 2006 military coup and has won two democratic elections under the Fiji First banner since.
SODELPA vice president Anare Jale says the management board made its “tough decision” through a secret ballot this afternoon. It came down to the wire: 14 members voting Fiji First and 16 voting to side with the People’s Alliance and NFP.
