41-year-old mother and podcast host Sophia Giraldo. She is currently fighting for her life, after her estranged husband, Stephen Giraldo, allegedly drove his white Ford Explorer with their kids inside into Sophia Giraldo. Putting her in critical condition.
According to the New York Post, Sophia Giraldo, who hosts a podcast called, “Unfiltered and Free” where she talks about her journey, being a domestic violence survivor and gives tips on how to build your confidence back and heal from your trauma. She was hit by a car at 5:20 am on Tuesday, and her husband, MTA bus driver Stephen Giraldo, was allegedly behind the wheel. Police say the SUV got caught in a fence in front of the house, causing the vehicle to flip on it’s side. Luckily, their children who were also in the car, ages 11, 9, and 6, were not physically injured in the crash.
Police say after the crash, Stephan jumped out of the car and then stabbed Sophia. He is currently charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Sophia filed for divorce from him in August and she ran a life coaching business for women. Sophia has discussed her own experiences with domestic violence and the reason why she decided to end her marriage.
