A Tennessee woman, who had gone on a carjacking spree, has been accused of using her 5-year-old child as a shield while she fired a gun at one of her victims.

According to a post uploaded to the official Facebook account of the Clarksville Police Department on Thursday afternoon (December 22), the mother has since been identified as 24-year-old Bethany Wilson of Goodlettsville.

The Clarksville Police Department Facebook post shares that a 51-year-old woman first reported that she was approached by a white female with a gun, as she was pumping gas into her Nissan Juke at a Minit Mart on Trenton Road. The suspect, Bethany Wilson, ended up taking off with the victim’s car. Then, some time later, officers responded to another call of shots fired in the area of Warfield Blvd. and Ted Crozier Sr. Blvd. Upon police arrival, a man told local law enforcement that a white woman had robbed him of his black Mercedes Benz, while using a gun.

The man claimed that the woman, later identified as Bethany Wilson, had allegedly fired a shot and used her 5-year-old child as a shield during the carjacking. Eventually, the man’s luxury vehicle was recovered by police in Cheatham County — near where the suspect had stolen another car and crashed. It’s reported that Wilson carjacked a silver Ford F150 pickup truck, before crashing on I-24 and fleeing the scene. By that Thursday night, Wilson was discovered and arrested at a local Days Inn. Authorities in the area say the child that was with her at the time of her arrest was found safe. Wilson now faces 2 charges of aggravated robbery, with other charges pending.
