Police arrested an Indonesian woman at the Penang International Airport on Thursday (Dec 29) after she joked about having a bomb in her bag.
Barat Daya police say when the staff at the check-in counter inspected her bag, the woman said loudly “ada bom”
Police say the woman’s remark was clearly heard by the staff and other passengers nearby.
The 33-year-old woman, who works as a factory operator in Ipoh, was scheduled to board a flight to Medan with her two friends.
The case is being investigated for criminal intimidation.
