A spectator was killed after being hit by a race car during an event at the Dato’ Sagor Circuit in Pasir Salak yesterday.
Perak police say the 32-year-old man died while being treated at the Changkat Melintang Hospital, succumbing to head injuries and bleeding in the lungs.
Muhammad Amir was killed when 2 vehicles which were making a turn, collided and crashed to the right of the circuit and into a grassy area, hitting him.
Investigations into the incident at the CCT Battle of Champion race is ongoing, with the case classified as sudden death.
Meanwhile, the Perak state government says it will scrutinise the full report from the organiser of the race, especially the safety aspect of the event, before taking any action.
It also expressed condolences to the family of the victim.
