A Malayan Tapir was spotted roaming around the Hatten Hotel in Melaka today, surprising several guests and staff.
The Fire and Rescue Department says the tapir, who was found on the 5th floor, is believed to have entered via the parking lot and gotten lost.
Perhilitan game rangers were called in to help move the tapir, who was sedated while Melaka zoo officials were present.
Perhilitan Melaka adds they had received reports of a tapir being seen around the area, and had been prepared to address the situation.
