Malawi has generated $53.7 million in revenue from 20.1 million kgs sold so far in third week of the tobacco marketing season.
The trend continues to beat last season’s quantity during the same period as buyers had bought 13.8 million Kgs of tobacco valued at 28.3 million US dollars.
Tobacco Commission Spokesperson, Telephorus Chigwenembe says this year’s season average price is $2.67 per kg, a 31% increase from last year’s $2.05.
