Sbonelo Mthembu, a councillor for Mpumalanga, and two other people have perished in a hail of gunfire after the suspects allegedly shot the councillor multiple times and killed a buddy who was still in his bakkie.
The mechanic who was in the scene was also shot and killed.
“According to the report, the three were shot in a yard in eMkhondo. The councillor and his mechanic were dropped off by a friend who was driving a bakkie when suddenly three armed men appeared in the yard,”
Said provincial police spokesperson Mdhluli.
