Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Jojo Robinson announces she won’t be returning for another season of #RHODurban.
I decided to join this season because I wanted to give a new perspective on the tattooed community. Often people have assumptions about people with tattoos, and I wanted to flip that around and show everyone that you should never judge a book by its cover. I also always wanted to do something in TV and thought this would be a good way to kick-start that.
I love doing things that are out of my comfort zone, and I think this was the perfect space for self-growth and to create new friendships. It’s time to make the circle bigger, baby. And bring a little sugar and spice to an already amazing group of women.
Robinson’s decision to be leaving the Real Housewives of Durban comes after a time where viewers were already asking her to leave. Robinson’s friendship with co-star Nonku Williams is one of the reason why viewers were already booing her out the show.
However, a number of times Robinson has rubbed scores of viewers the wrong way based off how she treats other co-stars. it started off with Mabusi Seme, where Robinson displayed characteristics of being racist, classist and downright judgmental and rude.
“I wanna be done with TV, done with reality. I am done with that whole life. I just wanna like manifest my best housewife life, like concentrate on my family and like health and happiness. And I just be (pukes) with the drama. I just want the drama out my life, war and TV out my life, so lets just move past” said Jojo Robinson.
The amount of backlash and push-backs Jojo Robinson has been receiving from the viewers is evident enough that she is not relatable. Viewers have also been complaining about how much she talks and defends her husband, Calvin Robinson.
During episode 2 of the newest season of the Real Housewives of Durban, Jojo Robinson had a go at co-star and newbie, Slee Ndlovu. Robinson accused Ndovu of flirting with her husband and even proceeded to suggests that they should all get tattoos together.
“Jojo Robinson is an awful person, real mean girl energy and pretentious as all hell. I dislike her vv much #RHODurban” wrote Slee Phahla.
The Real Housewives of Durban is back for a second season. New episodes for the show will air every Friday starting 28 January on Showmax.
TikTok star Jojo Robinson is one of three new wives featured this season, alongside Londie London and Thobile MaKhumalo Mseleku. The wife of Durban businessman and former South African kickboxing champion Calven Robinson, Jojo is a tattoo fanatic, artist, and mother to her six-year-old son, Rocco. My husband has been very supportive in everything I do. It took quite a long time for confirmation to come through: it was just sort of hanging in the balance, and it was a situation of ‘Am I gonna get it or not?’. The whole time he was supportive, and he just said that if it was something that I wanted to do, he’d be there for me.
My family is supportive. I haven’t really had anyone in my personal life who’s been against the show. It’s more the outsiders and people who aren’t too close to me that had bad things to say. I think the viewers are going to see that I battled the first episode. It was a combination of being nervous and because this is new. So my personality was still very quiet and sharp.
As the episodes have gone on, I’ve got more comfortable, and my personality is evolving into who I am.
I battled at first to justify how much I should give. Like, how much should I show? How much should I tell? Can I be myself? Will people like me? I was very worried to be myself because I thought, ‘Okay, maybe I’m going to be too much,’ but then before episode 2 came along, I decided to relax and allow myself to be me. That was the most challenging. I mean, it’s easy to be you in the comfort of your own home, but to be you in the comfort of your home with 50 people around you, filming, is difficult.
