Police have confirmed the shooting of a 31-year-old man outside Mangosuthu University today. Xolani Ngema was a former student leader at the institution.
The cause of his shooting is not clear, but it is alleged to be associated with private student accommodation disputes.
Former student leader Xolani Ngema shot dead at Mangosuthu University of Technology at Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday afternoon.
The assailants are said to have shot the Ngema six times before fleeing in an unidentified vehicle. Ngema was assisting students at the entrance of the university when he was gunned down.
