Ministry of Trade and Industry has imposed an import restriction on crunchy chips popularly known as ‘Digaugau.’
Several other items such as salt, packaged sugar, bottled water and bread have also had their importation halted. Minister Kgafela justified the ban by stating that it is meant to boost local manufacturers of such products.
Ministry of Trade and Industry Chief Public Relations Officer Oarabile Phefo confirmed to this publication that there are local firms which manufacture ‘Digaugau.’
