D.C rapper Money Marr has been arrested after he was found trafficking 5,000 fentanyl pills from California to Maryland. 

Police have been investigating since November 2022. Toronto police say a man arrested for committing fraud at Money Marts around the city also created fake SIN cards and fake bank accounts, and is once again on the loose.

The police investigation began on Jan. 13, and the suspect was arrested two days later. Police are now searching for him after uncovering further evidence.

At the time, police said the accused allegedly used fake IDs to open accounts at multiple Money Marts in Toronto, and then received loans under these false names.

Hackett’s confiscation order is the last of seven issued to his associates following their convictions, and the latest ruling brings the overall figure of cash seized from their case to £91,483.32.

In addition to Hackett, investigators were also granted another forfeiture order for £55,590 cash by magistrates in North Tyneside on Thursday, March 31.

The money had been seized from an address in January 2021 as part of an investigation into Class A drug dealing.

Police believe the man stole mail, then used that information and his own photo to create false bank statements and other government documentation. Not only did he receive loans under these names, he also cashed other peoples paycheques, police allege.

He also created fake cheques and cashed those as well.

This month, police allege the frauds went much further.

The accused allegedly created fake identification in a number of victims’ names, including false SIN cards, Native Status cards, citizenship cards, and driver’s licenses.

Bundles of cash were found hidden in a wardrobe with some left in a washing-up bowl in the kitchen, and the money was seized, and the occupant arrested on suspicion of money laundering. 

While no further action was taken, the man was unable to successfully prove where the money came from, whether it was legally held, and a Proceeds of Crime Application was lodged with the courts.
