The Vice-Chancellor has also ordered that she hands over her keys to the hostel room and her student ID card.
In the video posted on social media earlier this month, Mabel Teye-Nomo was seen in the hallway of the school’s hostel hurling insults at the much younger victim while assaulting her with a cane at the UPSA Hostel.
Netizens alleged that the victim was being punished by the ‘senior’ for spreading rumours about her.
On April 5, the school set up a disciplinary committee to probe the incident following an uproar.
UPSA probes student misconduct captured in viral video
Two weeks down the line, the committee has finished its work and recommended Mabel’s dismissal from the CIMG Access Course as her actions contravene the school’s regulations.
Information gathered alleged that the victim was being punished by the ‘senior’ for spreading false rumors about her.
Following an uproar by online netizens and some celebrities, the school set up a disciplinary committee to probe further into the incident.
The institution in a letter signed by Dr. Koryoe Anim-Wright, the Vice Chancellor has ordered the dismissal of Mabel Teye-Nomo from the CIMG Access Course and to also “hand over keys to the hostel room and the University’s student ID card.”
