Congratulations to DJ, producer, and music maestro Cleopas “DJ Cleo” Monyepao for completing his Bachelor of Arts Degree at Wits University.

South Africa is in the midst of graduation season, and one particular personality making waves on social media is DJ Cleo.

The music producer took to his social media to celebrate his milestone, but not without a mix-up.

DJ Cleo’s educational journey was a personal goal he set for himself, which he announced on his social media page in 2020. In the tweet, he confirmed enrolling for a Bachelor of Arts at the University of the Witwatersrand, with a plan to complete the degree in record time, which was to be in 2023.

Today I embark on a journey that I’ve ignored for almost 20yrs. I’m nervous & excited.

It’s gonna take a lot of dedication, hard work, sweat & tears. I hope I can inspire many people out there. I’m ready.

The Ndiya Ndiya hitmaker said he never gave up because giving up and failing was not an option. He added that he had too much to prove to himself, which kept him going.

“All these hardships were a great threat to my progress, comfort and ease of life was a greater threat. As I stand here with my degree in hand I realise that I am stronger wiser and more resilient than I ever thought possible.”

He also announced that his new podcast Eskhaleni Podkhast would go live on 1 May.
