Disney is reportedly eyeing Zendaya for lead in ‘Princess Diaries 3’. (Read More Here).

According to industry insider Daniel RPK, the third film will see Anne Hathaway’s Mia Thermopolis from the first two films become Queen of the fictional European kingdom of Genovia. He revealed the news via his exclusive Patreon account.

This tweet right here said it best. Yes indeed, Anne Hathaway and Zendaya is the collapse of the century and has set the Internet on fire. In BVLGARI’s Unexpected Wonders short film, the two explored an Italian villa dripped in only the most shimmery jewels, lounged in silk robes, and did their little dance-y dance in the ballroom. If this doesn’t scream the Genovia lifestyle through Mia Thermopolis, then we don’t know what will.

Now, that’s not to necessarily say that Andrews’ character would be killed off. After all, not every leader stays in power until they die. But that’s besides point. For a series titled The Princess Diaries, Mia’s ascension to the thrown obviously creates the need for a new princess. That’s where the second part of the rumor comes into play.

RPK also alleges that there will be a brand new princess in the film. He states that the character will be biracial AND that Disney is currently eyeing Zendaya for the role.

The third movie based on the iconic 2000s book series by Meg Cabot is reportedly in development and has not yet begun filming, meaning there is likely a long wait left.

On the red carpet, Anne said that it was “thrilling” to “see the level of excitement” for the follow-up to the rom-com, the last flick, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, was released way back in 2004

“It’s a process that requires patience, and so everybody should consider themselves a part of the movie business now, because this is how long it actually takes to make things,” the Ocean’s Eight star said.
