The wedding blessing procession of Jessica Mila and Yakup Hasibuan at the HKBP Rawamangun Church, East Jakarta today, Friday, May 5. To the media crew, Otto Hasibuan as the father of the groom expressed his hope that the child would start a new household.
Quoting what the pastor said during the blessing ceremony, Otto hopes that Yakup and Mila’s marriage can be an inspiration for others, given Mila’s capacity as a public figure who is known to many people.
“The convict said this, this is Mila, a famous person, public figure, Yakup may also be famous, so they can use their talents for God and they are an inspiration to the younger generation,” said Otto Hasibuan to the media crew at HKBP Rawamangun, Friday, May 5.
This is the life of a public figure who really pleases God, makes his family happy. That’s my hope. So what they have can be useful and inspiring for everyone,” he continued.
He also said he hoped that the entire series of wedding events, until traditional events and receptions which took place tomorrow, Saturday, May 6, would run smoothly.
“Pray for everything to run smoothly,” said Otto.
Previously, Otto said that he and his family really wanted the marriage between Yakup and Mila to be held with the Batak custom. He said that every traditional event is not just a complement, but also has its own meaning.
“The Batak tradition illustrates love and brotherhood,” he said.
Furthermore, Otto expressed his hope that the child would not forget his customs and home areas.
“Even though they go to school as high as the sky, Batak customs and Indonesian culture still have to be held,” concluded Otto Hasibuan.
