Jackie Chan plans to leave his estimated $400 million to charity and NONE for his son, Jaycee. Chan explained ‘If he is capable, he can make his own money. If he is not, then he will just be wasting mine”.

When Jackie Chan dies, the massive fortune he earned over his career as a movie star will not be going to his children.

At time of writing Chan has an absolutely massive fortune to his name estimated to be somewhere in the region of $400 million (£323 million) and that would make for one hell of an inheritance.

The cinema icon has been pretty clear on this point in the past, writing in his 2015 autobiography Never Grow Up about his insistence that his son earn his own way in the world.

“If he is capable, he can make his own money. If he is not, then he will just be wasting my money,” the actor, who had already willed half of his fortune to charity at the time, was quoted as saying by Channel News Asia.

In 2014, Jaycee, then 31, was arrested on drug-related charges after testing positive for marijuana and being found with more than 100 grams of the drug in his possession, Beijing police said in a statement at the time. He was jailed for six months.

The Hong Kong-born star, now 67, has directed and starred in numerous hit movies in his six-decade-long career and continues to make movies today. It’s no surprise that he is currently worth an estimated $400 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

However, rather than leave his money to his only son Jaycee, whom he shares with wife Joan Lin, Chan plans to donate the entirety of his wealth to charity when he passes away. He made this announcement during an awards ceremony held in Beijing in 2011.
