On Friday afternoon, as an Asiana Airlines flight was landing at Daegu, South Korea, the door of the aircraft burst open.
As panicked passengers clutched their armrests, the interior of the aircraft was filled with a howling wind.
As per reports, the plane was around 700 feet (213 metres) above the ground and two to three minutes away from landing in the city 150 miles (240 kilometres) south of Seoul, when a man in his 30s who was seated in the emergency seat appeared to have opened the door.
The man was later arrested upon landing. A passenger on an Asiana Airlines flight in South Korea opened the door of the plane during the flight, claiming that he was overwhelmed. The passenger was arrested…
Nine passengers, all teenagers, were sent to hospital after suffering breathing issues, a Daegu fire department official said.
“I thought the plane was going to explode … It looked like passengers next to the open door were fainting,” an unidentified 44-year-old passenger told the Yonhap News Agency.
