A fire has broke out in Istanbul and the smoke has made its way to the stadium where the Champions League final will take place.
Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez is determined to seize the moment as the Argentinian looks to follow up his World Cup triumph with Champions League success.
“These are the two major finals a footballer can play,” Martinez said at a news conference at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium.
Manchester City and Inter Milan will compete against each other for the UEFA Champions League trophy, with the match taking place at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, which is the chosen venue for the final in 2023.
This will be Manchester City’s second attempt at winning the trophy, while Inter Milan has won it three times in the past.
Manchester City have reached the UEFA Champions League final for the second time in three seasons, having lost to Chelsea in 2021. If they win, they will become the 23rd team to win the European Cup and the first new name on the trophy since Chelsea’s 2012 victory.
The striker has 28 goals and 11 assists from 58 games this season.
“It has certainly been a very positive season for me. I am pleased with how it has gone and how I have done. Now, we hope to finish off in the best possible way,” he said.
“If you want to achieve your goal this is the very last step and we must be ready to take it. It will be a very important game for everyone at Inter and the club.”
