PSG now want to sell Kylian Mbappé this summer to anyone… except Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe reportedly telling Paris Saint-Germain he won’t be extending his contract until 2025 could have a major effect on Harry Kane’s career trajectory.

However, the bombshell Mbappe news has potentially scuppered any chance of Tottenham and England star Kane joining the Spanish giants.

French outlet L’Equipe reports Mbappe has informed his club that he will not be willing to extend his contract with the club until the summer of 2025.

This means PSG stand to lose their prized asset on a free transfer next summer, meaning the upcoming transfer window is their only realistic hope of getting cash for him.

One way or another Mbappe, Real Madrid and PSG would benefit should the move happen, but it would be a ‘disaster’ for Kane, says talkSPORT’s Rory Jennings.

The French international will not trigger a one-year extension option and could even be sold this summer as PSG will seek to prevent him from leaving for free, according to the local reports.

Mbappe was in a similar situation last year when he was linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, only to sign a contract extension with PSG.

The 24-year-old, who scored 41 goals in 43 games in all competitions for PSG this season, would be free to negotiate and sign a pre-contract agreement with a new club from January should he stay in Paris.
