AfD, Robert Sesselmann, has won a district council election for the first time

AfD has won a district council election for the first time.. 

Robert Sesselmann has been elected with 52.8% in the run-off vote in the German town of Sonneberg in Thuringia.

It’s a major breakthrough for the party as it’s the first time AfD wins a governing post.
