A lesser-known member of Trumpworld found herself in the public eye this week after she was misidentified on Fox News as none other than the former president’s wife, Melania Trump.

The sunglasses-wearing aide accompanying Donald Trump to his arraignment in a Miami courthouse this week was not the former first lady, but actually his deputy communications director, Margo Martin. Ms Martin, 27, is one of a long series of young conservatives who saw their careers take off under the ex-president, who since the beginning of his political career has had a penchant for bringing along fresh-faced staffers and elevating them past many of their older peers.

Martin, an Oklahoma native, has been with the president dating back to his time at the White House after joining as an advisor from Trump’s Save America PAC.

She was one of the few to remain on with the former president’s team beyond his White House tenure.

Martin became Deputy Director of Communications for Trump’s Save America PAC, which was used mainly to send emails to supporters and organize his continued rallies across the country.

Margo famously was the communications aide who gave the final press lid for the Trump administration. The moment was caught on camera and spread on social media where she said: ‘And one last time for the Trump White House, you have a travel photo lid.’ 

Martin may have some involvement in the president’s case in Florida on 37 charges related to his possession of classified documents. Ms Martin was misidentified by the Fox reporter on the scene, John Roberts, who told viewers as he spotted her: “We have some video that we want to play out here, Melania Trump entering the courthouse just a short time ago.”

He added moments later: “There she is.” John Roberts, a longtime fixture at the network, spotted the 27-year-old Martin’s arrival at Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. United States Courthouse in Miami and assumed it was Trump’s 53-year-old wife.

‘We have some video that we want to play out here, Melania Trump entering the courthouse just a short time ago,’ showing the clip alongside a chyron that said ‘Melania Trump arrives at Miami court.’

As DailyMail.com reported earlier Tuesday, Melania was spotted leaving Trump Tower to visit a building where a John Frieda hair salon is located. She also went a dentist, spending two hours inside that office.

The apparent doppleganger has become a key part of Trump’s team and may herself be involved in the case her boss faces.
