Former chairman of Ferrari, Luca di Montezemolo, has reportedly bought a stake in Lawrence Stroll’s company Aston Martin. As per BusinessF1, the Italian business tycoon has invested a sum of $4,000,000 into the British car company, believing that Aston Martin will soon reach the $35 billion valuation that Ferrari currently holds.
Montezemolo believes that Aston Martin can soon reach the valuation of his former employer – Ferrari. Aston Martin is currently valued at just over $1 Billion on the stock market. On the other hand, Ferrari is valued at around $35 Billion. Therefore, it is quite a long way to go before Aston even comes close to the status of Ferrari.
However, BusinessF1 claims that Montezemolo has huge trust in Stroll, the main reason behind the investment. The former Ferrari boss is an old friend of Stroll from when Tommy Hilfiger used to sponsor Ferrari. Stroll was a major investor in the fashion brand at the time.
