Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Carlee Russell complained in last tweet on Twitter about a man who stared at her in his car before she got abducted on I-459 in Hoover, Alabama.

She wrote: “people are such creeps…like this man stared at me while sitting in his car for like 10 minutes.”

Russell was traveling home from work in Birmingham, Alabama, and is believed to have picked up food on her way back before heading toward Hoover on I-459. She stopped to look for the child “near mile marker 11 between the Galleria flyover and Exit 10 for Highway 150,” police said.

“A single witness reported possibly seeing a gray vehicle with a light complected male standing outside of [Russell’s] vehicle. We have no further information about that individual or vehicle at this time,” police said.

When officers, who were already en route from the initial 911 call, arrived at the scene, they found Russell’s vehicle and some of her belongings, including her phone, but no sign of her or the child. Police have not received any reports or calls for a missing child, according to the Facebook post.

In a press conference on Friday, police said the case remains open and active and a reward of up to $25,000 has been offered. Russell’s mother, Talitha Russell, told CNN affiliate WBRC that she was working to stay positive during the search for her daughter.

“We are trusting God, we are staying positive, we are not allowing any negative thoughts to enter our minds,” she told WBRC. “So all that we are doing is trusting God, believe in God that our daughter will be brought home safely.”

Russell is 5 feet 4 inches tall and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, and white Nike shoes, according to the Hoover police Facebook post. Police urged anyone who may have seen Russell or who has any information about the case to contact the department.

Hoover, the sixth largest city in Alabama, is located around 10 miles south of Birmingham.

In a press conference Friday, Hoover Police Department Lieutenant Daniel Lowe said they are looking into all possibilities regarding the situation.

”We currently are investigating every possibility in this case,’’ Lowe said. “We’re certainly leaving nothing off the table.”

Lowe said the police department is receiving “a lot” of tips and are assigning investigators to them as they come in. Any person with any information is asked to contact Detective Brad Fountain at 205-444-7562, Sergeant Drew Mims at 205-739-7274, or Crimestoppers of Metro Alabama at 205-254-7777 if they wish to remain anonymous.

Additionally, an anonymous donor offered $20,000 for Russell’s return, and Crimestoppers is also offering an additional $5,000.
