Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Americans believe Post Malone’s Austin album is better than Travis Scott’s Utopia.

Cynthia: TMZ reports that Travis Scott and Post Malone might have to fight over album of the year, both will be so fire you can´t pick between the two! July 28th 2023 is now part of history says a reporter from Vanity Fair.

A what: So is everyone listening to Travis a second time instead of checking out Post Malone’s album?

Grace: travis scott made it look like post malone didn’t drop an album.

The highly anticipated album arrives five years after his last studio album Astroworld, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and included the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single “Sicko Mode,” featuring Drake, which not only became Scott’s first No. 1 hit but also an RIAA diamond-certified single two years after its release. Astroworld was also nominated for best rap album at the 2019 Grammy Awards.

Just who is behind the film is a mystery, though. An A24 logo appears on the poster art Scott put out, attributing the company as the film’s producer, yet asked about the project by Variety, the company says the movie is not actually theirs.

Whether the film is a narrative movie or an omnibus of connected music videos remains to be explained, too, although the long list of directors would point toward the latter. There is also a 32-second trailer for the film, which does not include any credits or distribution information, consisting of wildly disparate shots of Travis in exotic locations or cabs careening through city streets.

AMC theater listings confirm the running time and indicate the film will be showing in select theaters in a sporadic release pattern. L.A.-area listings show a single run time on Thursday, as promised in the tease, along with additional showings — also once a day — on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Utopia was preceded by lead single “K-POP” with The Weeknd and Bad Bunny. Scott was originally scheduled to perform the new album at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt Friday, but the special livestreamed concert was canceled due to “complex production issues,” according to a statement from Live Nation Middle East.

Clocking in at approximately one hour and 15 minutes, the 19-track record features guest appearances from Swae Lee on “Sirens,” Future and Sheck Wes on “Fein,” Beyoncé on “Delresto (Echoes),” James Blake and Westside Gunn on “Lost Forever,” The Weeknd on “Looove” and the previously-released single “K-Pop” with Bad Bunny and 21 Savage on the closer “Til Further Notice.” Scott’s wide range of collaborations with producers such as Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, WondaGurl, Metro Boomin, Boi-1da and more allows the artist to dive into exploratory sonic landscapes and transform it into his own. UTOPIA’s final product is an elevated and cohesive effort from Scott, making the five-year gap between that and ASTROWORLD worth the wait.

That was one of the most beautiful listening experiences, Austin is by far a masterpiece and Post Malone’s best body of work without a doubt, the vocals and guitar work is unmatched #PostMalone    #Austin.

The album contains a total of 17 tracks — “Don’t Understand,” “Novacandy,” “Too Cool to Die,” “Sign Me Up,” “Socialite,” “Something Real” “Speedometer,” “Hold My Breath,” “Enough Is Enough,” “Texas Tea,” “Buyer Beware,” “Landmine,” “Green Thumb” and “Laugh It Off” arrived with the release of the record on Friday, while tracks “Chemical,” “Mourning” and “Overdrive” were dropped as singles preceding the album’s arrival. The latter three singles charted at Nos. 13, 36 and 47 on the Billboard Hot 100, respectively.

Upon announcing the name of the project back in May, Malone revealed that recording the project was incredibly rewarding, and highlights the true nature of his artistry.

“This whole deal has been one of the most challenging, rewarding, and exciting records I’ve worked on. I feel it captures who I am as a man and as an artist in this moment,” he wrote in a May 16 Instagram post. “Thank y’all so much for your patience, and thank you for being there with me in my hardest times. I love y’all so much, and am ready to f—ing party with y’all. Cheers, and keep spreading love.”
