A live-action remake of ‘THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG’ is reportedly in early works at Disney.
On March 16, 2023, it was reported during the DisInsider Walt’s Apartment Podcast that a live-action remake of The Princess and the Frog was in development, in which they are currently searching a director and a writer for the film.
The Princess and the Frog is an upcoming American musical comedy adventure fantasy film based on E.D. Baker’s novel The Frog Princess, which was in turn inspired by the Brothers Grimm’s fairy tale The Frog Prince. It is a remake of the 2009 film of the same name. It will be produced by Walt Disney Pictures and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
At this point, Disney has remade so many animated classics, that it’s started to move on to some of its more modern releases.
We know that Lilo and Stitch is currently in production, and the Mouse House may now be looking at a movie that came out just over a decade ago.
According to a new rumor doing the rounds online, a live-action reimagining of 2009’s The Princess and the Frog is in the works.
The report comes via a Disney-themed podcast, which is believed to have shared some accurate info in the past.
Even so, it’s best not to put too much stock in this for the time being – although it wouldn’t exactly be a massive surprise.
