Conor McGregor feeding Anthony Joshua his Forged Irish Stout at ringside after Joshua’s knockout over Robert Helenius.
And as soon as the knockout punch landed, McGregor jumped in the ring and shoved a pint of Forged Irish Stout in AJ’s face and the Brit took a sip.
Fans are also waiting for the return of McGregor, with the UFC fighter meant to fight Michael Chandler at the end of this calendar year. The Irishman is still yet to fight since fracturing his left tibia and fibula in July 2021, but he used Joshua’s platform to try and sell his new alcoholic beverage, and also propose a fight with KSI.
Before Joshua defended KSI, saying: “That’s my guy,” as the pair laughed it off.
Earlier in the night, McGregor made an entrance that only he could, turning up with his own ring girls.
This included IBF bantamweight champion Ebanie Bridges who posted a picture to social media of her dressed in Forged Irish Stout while pulling pints.
McGregor then noticed KSI, who he had called out earlier that night and the former two-weight UFC champion turned to the social media star and said: “He’s a b****.”
Anthony Joshua had a successful return to the ring on Saturday night as he knocked out Robert Helenius in the seventh round. But it was UFC fighter Conor McGregor that took centre stage after the fight, as he handed Joshua a cup of his Forged Irish Stout in a strange promotion.
The win helps Joshua and his promoter Eddie Hearn work towards their next major fight, as an agreement to face Deontay Wilder is “imminent”. But Saturday’s knockout was something that the fans have been waiting for after Joshua’s last fight at the 02 Arena was underwhelming.
