It was gathered that the incident happened during a stop-and- search in the Odogbolu area of the state on Wednesday, October 13. “The police officer searched his phone and found nothing. An argument ensued and the suspect brought out his gun and shot the victim in his leg. He almost ran away but was caught by residents who witnessed the incident.
For fear of the officer being lynched, he was taken to the police station while the victim was rushed to the hospital. The bullet has been extracted from his leg but we doubt Akorede would be able to walk properly again. The Federal Government should please take a concrete action against police brutality in the country,” a source said.
