26-year-old married Oklahoma substitute teacher was arrested after she “made out with boy, 15-years-old, and sent him nudes” — Husband is town’s police chief.
A married former substitute teacher in Oklahoma, who is also believed to be the daughter of the town mayor, has been accused of kissing and sending nudes to a 15-year-old student.
According to the criminal affidavit, Emma Delaney Hancock, 26, a former teacher at the Wellston Public School district began texting the 15-year-old in October 2022 to send him a school assignment.
The affidavit then said Hancock and the teen began exchanging nude photos and videos of sex acts more frequently.
Which later escalated into Hancock and the teen kissing each other on two occasions while in classrooms.
Hancock is also accused of touching the teen inappropriately during the second time they kissed, according to the court filing.
Hancock is married to the town’s Chief of Police Alfred Hancock and is believed to be the daughter of Wellston Mayor Paul Whitnah.
The educator is facing two counts of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology and two counts of lewd or indecent acts to a child under the age of 16.
The 26-year-old appeared in court on Thursday before turning herself into jail and posting a $50,000 bail bond before being released, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Charlie Dougherty said.
Dougherty said that given Hancock’s relationship with the Wellston police chief, the Oklahoma State Bureau (OSBI) were asked to step in to conduct the investigation into the case to avoid conflict.
The affidavit also said that at one point, the 15-year-old told his friend about the relationship with Hancock.
When the other student asked Hancock if this was true, she initially denied it but then admitted that it was true, the affidavit shows.
The teen replied: “I don’t know, are we?”
“Are you trying to get me to lose my job?” Hancock allegedly said.
The teacher and student began exchanging nude photos and sexually explicit videos before engaging in two separate physical encounters, the documents allege.
The filing alleges that the boy visited the classroom Hancock was teaching in during her lunch break. They kissed inside the classroom closets and the teacher is accused of groping the teen during at least one meeting.
The abuse was reported to the school district in November, Superintendent Mike Franz told the outlet. Hancock was swiftly banned from campus and reported to police.
Multiple Wellston residents told the outlet Hancock is the daughter of Mayor Paul E. Whitnah and wife to Chief of Police Alfred Hancock.
Because of the conflict of interest, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is handling the case, Lincoln County Sheriff Charlie Dougherty said.
