Bun B — as well as the rest of the Texas rap community — is currently in mourning as it’s been revealed that Houston rap legend Big Pokey has died.
The UGK rapper took to Instagram on Sunday (June 18) to confirm the passing of the Sensei rapper (real name Milton Powell). A cause of death is not yet known.
“I wasn’t ready for this,” he wrote alongside a photograph of Big Pokey. “One of the most naturally talented artists in the city. Low key, humble mountain of a man who moved with honor and respect. He was easy to love and hard to hate.
“He’d pull up, do what he had to do and head home. One of the pillars of our city. If heart of gold was a person. Iconic member of the SUC. There will never be another and will be missed dearly. We love and honor you Sensei. Rest in heaven.”
A heart arrest reportedly caused Big Pokey to lose consciousness, and he later died. We don’t know if it’s true, but we’ll update the Big Pokey’s exact cause of death as soon as we hear from trustworthy sources. So stay tuned with Opoyi for the latest updates.
Big Pokey, a great rapper whose name is well-known in the music business, is rumored to have passed away. Although we haven’t received any official news, multiple outlets are making the allegation.
Online reports claim that Big Pokey died today, 18th June 2023. Allegedly, the paramedics attempted CPR on him after he passed out during his performance tonight in Beaumont, Texas, but were unsuccessful.
