Flash floods have been reported in Shah Alam, Selangor after continuous heavy rain for over 2 hours this evening.


Among the affected areas are Taman Sri Muda, Bukit Naga, Bukit Jelutong, Section 17, Section 24, Section 32, and Section 36.


The National Disaster Management Agency has warned residents in 142 areas across 7 states to brace for potential flash floods from heavy rain and thunderstorms.




It includes 48 areas in KL, Negri Sembilan (45), Johor (26), Selangor (16), Melaka (3), Sarawak (3) and Kedah (1).


Netizens are offering to pick up LRT passengers who are stranded as a result of breakdowns in the Kelana Jaya LRT line today. 


Social media users have also proposed to carpool to work tomorrow over fears that train services will remain disrupted


Train services between the Kelana Jaya LRT station until the Ampang Park LRT station has been closed to commuters.


Rapid Rail is advising affected commuters to take free feeder bus services or other alternative modes of transport.


It has apologised for the inconvenience.
