Two suspects, a Libyan and a Syrian, were caught in the operation organized by the police teams against ISIS in Istanbul.
It was learned that while Mohamed MAA, a Libyan national of ISIS, was arrested by the court, and Zaher S., a member of the organization, was released.
The operation was carried out by the teams of Istanbul TEM (Anti-Terrorism Branch). In the studies carried out by the police teams, 2 suspects related to ISIS were identified. The addresses of the suspects active in the conflict zones, where the activities of ISIS are concentrated, were determined in Istanbul.
The police, who physically and technically followed Libyan national Mohamed MAA and Syrian Zaher S., who were in the ranks of the organization and were determined to be in Istanbul for a while, carried out an operation at the addresses determined in Esenyurt and Sultanbeyli on 2 November.
In the raids in which Special Operations Teams also participated, two suspects allegedly involved in the armed activities of ISIS were caught and detained. It was learned that the suspects were preparing for action.
Mohamed MAA, a Libyan national of ISIS, was arrested by the court, while Zaher S., a member of the organization, was released pending trial in accordance with “judicial control provisions”.
