ZUS Coffee has addressed the recent viral incident involving a customer who asked for his 5 sen change. (Read More Here).

In a Facebook post, the customer said he had bought a drink for RM11.75. When he paid with RM12 in cash, the cashier initially only returned 20 sen.

“Kalau tak ada 5 sen, kau kena bagi aku 30 sen, bukan 20 sen. Kenapa pulak aku kena absorb hilang 5 sen sebab kau yang tak ada baki?” he wrote.

However, upon highlighting this, the cashier then provided him the additional 10 sen.

ZUS Coffee apologised for the incident and said it had investigated the case.

“This was a case of customer highlighting despite a mere 5 cents, a business should return the exact change, or more and never shortchange,” it said.

ZUS Coffee also noted that the cashier provided the additional 10 sen to the customer almost immediately.

“We do not see this as a case of shortchanging but highlighting of personal opinion which all businesses should adopt.”
