A 23-year-old rapper from Ohio has been arrested in Georgia for the death of another up-and-coming artist.

Q-Money, whose real name is Qamar Akee Williams, was charged with felony murder in connection to the shooting death of 24-year-old Calvin Alexander Chappell, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Cynthia Williams said in a statement to USA TODAY.

Authorities said Williams allegedly shot Chappell “multiple times with a handgun” April 15 in Decatur, Georgia.

Williams turned himself in “without incident” Thursday and was taken into custody at the DeKalb County Jail after a warrant was issued for his arrest, the statement added.

After the shooting, Williams denounced violence and offered his apologies to the families.

“I wanted to put my city on the map and spread positivity,” he told the outlet in July while holding his young son. “I don’t use guns in my videos. You may see some money in there, but no guns, no violence. I don’t promote violence at all. I’m for the kids.”
