Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Brian Molefe and Anoj Singh are among people arrested by the Hawks this morning. (Read More Here).




Their arrests are in connection with a R93 million Transnet corruption and fraud case in which 5 other people have already been charged. They’re currently doing fingerprints and will soon appear in court.


News24 understands that Molefe and other high-profile former Transnet executives are due to appear on charges linked to a R93 million fraud case.


“We are in the dark about what is actually alleged against our client. Obviously, Mr Molefe denies the allegations, but we will wait for a full disclosure of the charges and make a statement then,” Mpho Molefe said.


The ID pounced on the suspects in early morning operations.


They will appear in court later this morning.


It’s understood the arrests are in connection with a R93 million corruption and fraud case in which five other people have already been charged.


The accused are charged with contravention of the Public Finance Management Act, fraud, corruption and money laundering.


The locomotives deal ballooned from R38bn to R54.5bn, and the controversial Gupta brothers allegedly received about R6bn in kickbacks, the state capture inquiry found.
